…hope you are having a great summer doing the things you love

Thinking of summer, and using excuses to wear things in your hair, going to the beach and getting away to do something fun, this makes mee think of my FAVORITE thing to do in the summer.
Ok I love to do this any time of the year; but in fact I LOVE LOVE to do this in the summer, ok really. Scouts honor. I am not a scout, but no really, truthfully my favorite time is in the summer.

I guess the ultimate thing I think of in the summer, is really kid’s taking time off, because vacation and time off for kids is full of laugher, giggling and as much fun as their imaginations (which are nothing short of the biggest thing ever) can come up with. If you have kids around you for summer, you are in for a ride.

So summer to mee-is probably going on as much adventure and using as much imagination as you can think of. It’s like the only time of year I feel like you have an excuse for both. Encouragement for both. I mean where would summer be without it?

And in using your imagination and victoriously adventurous self, my favorite thing to do is DUDADU:

i hope your summer is super sweet

In order to fully enjoy 10 times Sweet on Summer & 11 times Sweet on Summer, this sweetness needs to be pasted in.

In order to enjoy the Cottage lifestyle and the inside Cottage lifestyle, the Outside of the Cottage lifestyle should be mentioned too.

I am kind of biased, because of my love of the ocean and all things beach, since I grew up on a beach, but really, how can you not enjoy?

And yet I find it the most hardest to do.

Are the best things in the world. Vacations-custom- vacations Get away to your favorite place Vacations. Watch the kids play outside, as you putter, read, sing, laugh, garden, or anything you’d like really, kind of vaca. Yes beach far away, kind of vacations are great, and needed, especially to get them out of your system.

Today’s reason that I am 8 times sweet on summer, comes from day dreams and thoughts of far off places.
Summer is so good for day dreams and thoughts of far off places. Maybe because its summer and day dreaming seems to come hand and hand with an island on the sea.

This 7th Reason I am Sweet on Summer comes from a reason I don’t quite understand.
Maybe it’s all in my head
Maybe its because of the wind in my hair
Maybe it’s because the birds are already doing it

Yesterday and the day before, well actually now that you mention it, this whole week actually, I have really been enjoying this so very much. Yes very much indeed.
I think this year I have noticed them more than any other year, because they are everywhere here in town and in the country. On my walks, I walk by them in yards, on gravel roads, in the gardens and by ditches. They are beautiful, bring so much color and beauty into this time of year! And I cannot stop saying enough about how grande they fill the room with aromas, sweet to the nose, and happy to the heart.

Yes, all shade of purple.

Five reasons to be thankful, grateful for the passing summer.

Today is one of my very very favorites.

For this third reason I am sweet on summer, well this one is dear to my heart.
Only because I dream about this one all year long, and finally work my courage to try it out in summer.

And that is the idea of

Summer Dresses

Why I love the ideas for dresses, to give you some examples of this lovely thing in my head,

1. I love the idea of dancing in the cool of the summer evenings, with the wind twirling my skirt around, making mee feel giddy, full of giggles like a little girl again
2. Instead of getting into pjs and going to bed; dressing up (in a summer dress of course! *wink) and laying a blanket out in the backyard, or going for a drive and watching the stars at night, all dressed up
3. Going out to meet up with a friend or a casual errand? Dress up! Get in that dress and own it like you know you want to!
4. Arranging a summer tea party with your friends (bring the little girls too if you want or just stick with adults and dresses) and all have the excuse to dust off that summer dress and go to town!
5. Summer dresses are the PERFECT excuse to accessorize! Parasol, gloves, hat, high heels/sandals, red lip stick, hair up-do…bring it all out,
6. Or if you don’t have any of that, arrange to go through your grandma’s attic and plan a party with the Seniors to play an afternoon hand of cards. Spice it up a little and bring them outside to smell the roses and drink (spiced) lemonade, maybe even play a few games outside!
7. Go mini golfing and take a dress
8. Watch a sports game, horse races, baseball, track and field and take photos with all your friends or people you want to be friends with.
9. To the office, summer dress, and bring in some flowers with you too

Get the drift…I could keep going, but I just imagine all year long that it will one day be warm enough to get into that cute summer dress and go out on all my errands feeling like sunshine was headed my way!

I love sweet things

For the second reason I am sweet on summer, was when I remembered being a little kid and really enjoying something in summertime.

Yesterday, we were out yard sale’n and at one of the houses we went to, there was a sweet mom just waiting for all the people to walk up her steep driveway and right next to her were these cute kids, each of them looked like they were right around 2 years old, with the cutest looks and smiles on their face. My favorite thing though was that each of them were holding, their little fingers so tightly grasping around as not to drop them, a stick of chalk. And right in front of them were these really colorfully drawn Hopscotch squares.

You remember! Being little and playing Hopscotch and loving it, not understanding why you had to do it again and again and again, but still going back for more every time. I remember watching my mother look out at the window just smiling and shaking her head as she watched mee yet again jump with my blonde locks flinging high up in the air. I almost felt like I was soaring

Hopscotch
Wikipedia states, “The sport of Hop-Scotch or Scotch-Hoppers is called in Yorkshire ‘Hop-Score,’ and in Suffolk ‘Scotch Hobbies or Hobby,’ from the boy who gets on the player’s back whilst hopping or ‘hicking,’ as it is there termed; and in North Britain it is known as ‘Peevers, Peeverels, and Pabats. Hopscotch is phonetically written two imperatives from czech language “hop!” and “skoč!”, which means “hop” and “jump”

From what I understand Hopscotch actually came from a teacher who was trying to get the students to memorize something. From there, the game grew on till they weren’t memorizing a poem, but just jumping and saying a rhythym.

In the other countries that I have lived in, I have seen kids today using hopscotch all kinds of ways. Some say a playful rhym while skipping certain blocks of words or numbers, while others jump on each other’s backs and see how far they can go before they tumble down.

Also I have seen other teachers teach a math game, the point being after you solve a math question, then you can jump to that number. (If you click on the image above it will take you to an online article about how to do this, to help your kids play a game & work their brains at the same time)

For a really fun thing to do with your kids, or if you don’t have any kids, go find some neighborhood kids who are looking for something to do in summer, I think will bring about lots of good quatlity time while doing something fun! I found this really neat recipie online for making chalk

Let’s make some awesome memories this year and go a jumping and a soaring. And lets take some little ones with us and show them how to enjoy and make summer memories with jumping and numbers

To start out on the  ”I am sweet on” {aka I love; things that make mee swoon} things that are all about summer good times to have the perfect, “I am going to enjoy summer” reasons to be sweet on summer.

This 1st sweet on summer
is PERRRRFECT for enjoying summer happen all around mee, around you + mee

Now this one deserves a tall cup of minted lemonade, a good read {book/magazine with lots of pictures} a cool breeze and lots of bug spray or candle to ward off the bugs

You know what I mean. Summer has happened and just passed by.  JUST LIKE THAT.  Like a slow blink.
“What did you do this summer?” or the “What are your plans for this summer?” You know those questions.
Well now you can say, “Yes! I ENJOYED summer, that is what I did”
